I haven’t posted in forever. But I’m trucking along. Ran 11 redonkulously humid and blazing miles on Sunday. Heat index well into 90s when I finished. It band pain started on mile 3. I kept moving, though quite slowly.
Chocolate GU is just as good as caramel. I was in a chocolate mood too, if ya catch ma meaning.
Knee and hip pain so intense. So I scheduled a 30 min sports massage. The massage therapist looked like a linebacker and had hands like hams. He was awesome! Made me realized it wasn’t my it band but some super tight and knotty quads that were pulling on everything else in my legs. Basically my muscles were so dehydrated that they were stuck together. So….water.
Mud run on Saturday. Then 12 the next week. Then the Talladega half on the 22nd. If humidity cooperates, I’m aiming for 2:20. 2:27 is my PR. Its a fast course, so maybe…

Teddy Grahams snack packs. Best 3:30pm snack ever. Real lawyers have Teddies on their desks.
Finally bought a water bottle to run with. Love the size, low weight, small key/gu pocket, and the easy carry. Only downside, it sits right against your palm, which means if you freeze your water to keep it cooler longer, your hand gets painfully cold. I’m working on a solution for this. Maybe a sweatband?
I LOVE what I’m doing but I’m left with so little time and extra energy that posting is hard to do. I’m not going to go dark just yet. I’m going to see how my schedule plays out and how I adjust to it. But life is certainly different.
My wonderful husband gave me flowers on my first day at my new job! So pretty!
A mule, otterbox cases, and play girl mags… I think you’re better off without him.
All the notes and encouragement on my new haircut really gave me the confidence boost I needed this morning. Y’all are the BEST.
Haircut! I start my new job tomorrow and had to do something with my hair. I want to keep it long but it needed some style to it to make it look a little more professional. Yay! Shout out to Doug at Batton Hair Studio in Cahaba Heights.
Ran with my Fleet Feet peeps. 3 miles, slow in this redonk humidity. But 3 is 3. 4 or 5 tomorrow morning, then 8 on Sunday.
Because that’s all I seem to post these days. I’m getting ready for the big job swap. I leave this one on Friday and start the new one Monday. SO MUCH TO DO. And NO time to do it. I’m pretty sure my schedule will not easier anytime soon, but I’m going to try to post pictures of my workouts at the very least.
This week so far:
Monday - Bodypump. I won’t be able to make this class anymore, so super sad. BUT the Y has Bodypump classes several days a week at other times, so I’m sure I’ll find one that works.
Tuesday - 3 m on treadmill and some quick ab stuff. I beasted out 3 miles at the gym before hitting the gym shower and rushing to a happy hour thing and then a movie with the hubs. We were in such a rush for dinner that we snuck subway sandwiches in my purse into the movie. Loved it.
Today - I think I’m calling a rest day. Hub’s parents coming for dinner at our apt tonight. Normally we do yoga class today, so it’s a semi-rest day regardless.
